On Sunday night's episode of Nate Berkus's new show, American Dream Builders, we were introduced to a pair of Tudor homes that got full overhaul thanks to the two competing teams. In the West family's home, tackled by "Team Blue," designer Andrew Flesher took on the living room, which started out as drab, with the large space poorly managed.
After Flesher worked his magic, the whole space felt brighter (painting the beams white was a big part of that) and more modern. Tufted furniture with elegant lines keeps things looking fresh, while a rug that's proportional to the space made a tremendous improvement—especially when you look back at the teeny-tiny area rug in the "Before."
Plus, a variety of seating and lighting adds visual interest and makes the room a much cheerier, more comfortable place to be.
