There's nothing quite like a cookie-cutter bathroom to make you want dial the drama way up (blank canvases tend to inspire the wildest ideas). But this makeover, completed by Cassie at , proves that restraint is in order when you want to make a statement.
Choosing to only cover a third of the wall with dreamy dark (and pulling the dark hue onto the ceiling, too) was a budget-minded choice, but also a total design success. Any more of the paper would have overwhelmed the space. Instead, now the white wood planked walls and Moroccan tile can shine (and bounce around tons of pleasing light), and your eye doesn't miss the beautiful accent pieces, either. The striped rug, modern sconces, and gilded mirror radiate with sophistication.
The only sad part to this story? Cassie put her house the market shortly after completing the project. We weep for the wallpaper left behind — but at least she thinks the bathroom led to a speedy sale.
