Genevieve Gorder’s New Show Is Like Project Runway for Interior Designers

Too bad luxury interiors can't walk down a runway.

What happens when you mix Bravo with rockstar designer Genevieve Gorder, ELLE Decor, Project Runway, and a little bit of healthy home reno competition? You get a brand new competitive design series called Best Room Wins.

Genevieve has just announced her latest venture into the television design world on Instagram—and its a similar premise to Project Runway. But instead of showing off designer outfits to a panel of judges, the competitors will be showing off designer rooms.

Editor in chief of ELLE Decor, Whitney Robinson, and a guest judge pulled from an impressive roster that includes Molly Sims, Jonathan Adler, Jeff Andrews, and Jason Wu will join Genevieve as they decide which designer created the best luxury room for their client.

The competitors each get a budget of $25,000 to recreate just one room in each home—and the winner is based off of client's happiness, overall appeal of the design, and how well they used their budget.

Genevieve told PEOPLE back in February that Best Room Wins isn't the reason she left her HGTV show, Trading Spaces.

“I had a previous series already scheduled for the same time that we were going to shoot Trading Spaces. So the only thing that happened was just a schedule conflict," the designer said. “I always want to do Trading Spaces until the day I die.”

Best Room Wins premieres Thursday, May 2 at 9:30 p.m. EST on Bravo.
