Walking through her front door, Aniko — blogger behind — probably felt more like she was headed into a war zone than her own home. And her family's weapon of choice? Toys. Loads of 'em.
Years ago she had given up her home's living room, creating a playroom for her kids instead. But then six years went by, and the set-up just wasn't working for the family anymore (and their feet we tired of finding not-so-soft toys constantly underneath them). Enough was enough, and the before picture proves it:
Anika decided that her kids didn't necessarily need this room as a toy dumping ground — their bedrooms seemed like more than enough space, and certainly some of the toys could be sent to Goodwill. She was ready to reclaim her space, and take the blank slate (fun!) and turn it into a bright and inviting living room.
And boy did she ever. Aniko's final look is a little bit bohemian (thanks to a wicker ottoman, layered rugs, and saturated jewel tones), and a little bit midcentury — with a cognac leather couch from as the showpiece. Artwork from adds polish adds as an abstract and eclectic focal point (there's plenty of other walls for family photos, don't worry).
