While he was writing his memoir Capital Gaines: Smart Things I Learned Doing Stupid Things, which came out in October 2017, Chip Gaines came up with an idea to give back. In case you didn't love him enough already, he wants to help you. Yes, really.
Last year for the first time, Chip launched his very own Chipstarter, in which he called for submissions, urging people with big business and/or personal goals to enter to win. "Basically, I wanted to be a launching pad for people's dreams, their desires, their passions, maybe their careers," he said in a video about the contest.
Chip writes of the many "runways" he met throughout his life who helped change his career and allow him to follow his passions. In the spirit of keeping dreams alive and being a runway, or launching pad, for more than just last year's six winners, the beloved Fixer Upper star is making Chipstarter 2.0 happen.
Entering is fairly simple, so if you want Chip's help, get ready. From September 4 (10 a.m. CT) to September 10th (11:59 p.m. CT), enter your video submission that "explains your dreams and how Chip can help get you there." Big or small, your dream is worth it (as long as it meets the requirements listed in the FAQ and Terms pages)!
Here's how to enter:
- Upload a short video to YouTube (two minutes or less)
- Set the video to "Public"
- Copy the unique YouTube URL
- Visit the "Submit Your Dream" page
- Fill out the information and paste the URL
- Submit and confirm email address
Remember: Chip wants you to think outside the box! "Figure out a way to captivate my attention, reach through the screen and grab my attention ... I want you to surprise me, have a little fun." Last year, he continues, some entrants climbed mountains in their videos or showed wooden bats that were certified by the MLB Players Association, and more.
A winner will be announced at Magnolia's fourth annual Silobration (running October 18 to 20) on the Silos grounds in Waco, Texas.
