Fans have been speculating about a Riverdale x The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina crossover episode since before the new series even went into production. And now that CAOS is finally here, there are tons of clues that suggest the two worlds―inspired by Archie Comics―will collide. But the biggest clue? You, and most fans, probably missed it. That's right, I'm talking about the moment Jughead popped up at Baxter High.
It's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it-moment―literally. I had to watch all of the episodes twice just to find it. But thanks to a helpful tip from production designer Lisa Soper, I knew where to look. "On top of the bookshelf in Baxter High, there's a Jughead crown etched there with 'was here' under it," Lisa shared when she spoke with Miescisko last week about the design of Sabrina's house.

If you look really close, around the 6:15 mark in episode 3, you'll see it. There on the top of a bookshelf is Jughead's crown with a pencil lying next to it. Check it out:
See how shaky that still is? That's how fast it happens. But it does happen. Which raises the question: If Jughead visited Baxter High once, is there a chance he might return? Other moments in CAOS sure make it seem possible.
There are at least two instances when Riverdale is called out by name. First in episode 2, when Sabrina and the Weird Sisters are leading a group of football players into the mines, and again in episode 10 when Harvey and Sabrina are discussing Tommy Kinkle's fate. Eagle-eyed fans were also quick to point at that the delivery boy who brings Ms. Wardwell her pizza is actually Ben, who―spoiler alert―just died in Riverdale season 3 after playing Griffins and Gargoyles. With all these clues, it seems inevitable that the characters will meet somehow. And if you want to try to predict when or how that might happen, there's one more thing to look out for.
If you look closely at Sabrina's bedroom vanity, there's a set of tarot card readings laid out on the table. Lisa arranged the cards―changing them for each episode―to give clues as to what would happen next. Pretty sneaky, huh? So if you can read tarot cards and you do figure out when Jughead is coming back to Greendale, please let me know.
