ICYMI: Christina Anstead is currently on maternity leave, only three-ish weeks away from giving birth to her first child with husband Ant Anstead. But on Thursday, the HGTV star surprised fans by coming out of maternity leave for only one day to start filming Season 2 of Christina on the Coast.
“I came out of maternity leave (currently 37 weeks pregnant) because I can’t resist a good challenge,” she wrote on Instagram. “Fun day back on set with these guys starting a new episode of #ChristinaOnTheCoast Season 2!!”
She continued: “It’s a BIG project in Laguna Niguel—gonna make for an amazing transformation... @chardphoto was our wedding photographer, and I’m excited to tackle this project with him ... Rich, ready or not here we go.”
She's referring to photographer Rich Lander, whose comment will only get you more pumped for the big reveal: "Soooo much fun with you all today! So so excited! Can’t wait!"
On August 14, HGTV announced that Christina on the Coast had been officially picked up for Season 2, with 13 brand-new episodes scheduled to premiere in early 2020. Given that the 36-year-old home-reno expert is in the final weeks before her baby's delivery, it’s no surprise she's trying to tackle a few projects for the show, so when Baby Anstead arrives, she can focus fully on her family.
