Here's another reason to love Lucy: CBS has just announced that they will air an "I Love Lucy Christmas Special" this December, which will consist of two classic episodes, one of which was never included in regular reruns. Excited? That's not even the best part!
For the first time ever (ever!), the show will air in color. Back-to-back. Without commercial interruptions. The two episodes getting the Technicolor treatment are "The Christmas Episode" (of course) and "Lucy Does a TV Commercial," which avid fans might remember for its classic "Vitameatavegamin" bit. In fact, let's revel in the hilarious scene again right now:
"Lucy Does a TV Commercial" famously aired in 1952, while "The Christmas Episode" first debuted on CBS in December of 1965. According to , "the [Christmas] episode was considered 'lost' for many years until CBS re-aired it in 1989."
The Christmas special will air at 8 p.m. on December 23, but to tide you over until then, read up on all the things you might not have known about .
