Gone are the clunky, brightly-colored kids' play kitchens of the past. Okay, okay—they're not gone, but they have been given a bit of a makeover, thanks to toy brand . As in, the kind of makeover that takes them from a fun kids' toy to a chic addition to your home, so much so that celebrities like Jessica Alba (who recently shared a post about one of the brand's play kitchens to Story) are getting in on the trend, and it's easy to see why. I mean, they're impossibly cute.
Milton & Goose makes two play kitchens as of now: the essential kitchen ($650), and the classic ($800). Both the essential play kitchen and the classic option feature an extra-large oven with a pull-down door, a stovetop with four burners and a center section that can serve as a grill or a cutting board, turning knobs, a farmhouse sink with hot and cold water taps, and an under-sink cabinet with a shelf for added storage.
The classic play kitchen has the added bonus of an upper shelf with an oven hood and hooks for hanging pots and pans. And both the essential and classic play kitchens come in meringue white, but you can also purchase the classic in gray, too.
While these particular play sets are a bit pricier than your typical play set, the brand's goal was to create "heirloom-quality toys" so that families would be inspired to pass them down from generation to generation.
Essential Play Kitchen, $650, Neiman Marcus
Basically, if you want your kids' toys to be as beautiful and well-designed as the rest of your home, these play kitchens are the way to go. Honestly, these play kitchens are way more stylish than my own apartment kitchen, and now I'm wondering how I can convince my landlord to install a farmhouse sink...but that's beside the point.
Oh, and a kitchen play set isn't complete without some adorable faux food to go with it (like this felt pumpkin spice latte!). Check out some of the cutest options on Etsy below.
