Asda’s Christmas advert has arrived and it’s a fun, snow-filled extravaganza capturing the spirit and excitement of bringing Christmas home.
The ad sees Santa launch a flaming Christmas pudding into the air before an avalanche of dancing skiers, Santas on motor bikes, cowboys riding Christmas trees and even stunt-driving Yetis descend down a snowy mountain to bring Christmas home to an excited young girl.
Set to the classic festive song, 'Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)', the 60 second ad also features hundreds of Asda and George products, ranging from the Extra Special Pork, Turkey, Apple and Cranberry Sausage Roll Wreath to a selection of Christmas jumpers and novelty nightwear.
And a few Asda colleagues even have starring roles after the supermarket held open auditions for the chance to be part of the campaign.
'We really wanted to hone in on a universal feeling about Christmas that people could relate to. The one thing we all kept coming back to was the sense of excitement that comes from preparing to bring your nearest and dearest together, how crazy and chaotic it can feel, but ultimately how all the effort results in something wonderful when you bring Christmas home,’ said Asda’s Chief Customer Officer, Andy Murray.
'Our ad really captures the energy and excitement – as well as showcasing the range of products we have on offer that mean you can get everything you need to bring Christmas home at Asda.'
Asda has become the first of the supermarkets to kick off its Christmas campaign, but in terms of major retailers, it follows on the tails of Currys PC World and Argos. Asda's Bring Christmas Home TV ad will hit screens tonight, launching on ITV at 7.15pm and on Channel 4 during the centre breaks of both Gogglebox and Great British Bake Off: Extra Slice.

Asda Christmas advert 2017 recap
Asda went all Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on us for its 2017 Christmas advert created by Saatchi & Saatchi. The delightfully magical ad, set to the music of Fleetwood Mac's 'Don't Stop', followed a young girl and her granddad as they stepped foot into Asda's Victorian factory, called the The Imaginarium.
The pair explored all of the festive treats on offer, which included a giant food mixer, a pop-up Christmas cookbook, and a glimpse into the futuristic gin room.
