Another day and another piece of advice on how to make our homes look "classy." And, while we certainly believe that when it comes to our homes it's each to their own, such interior insights can be interesting...

So, in the spirit of being nosy, interior experts at have revealed a few things that can make a home look completely unstylish, apparently.

According to the designers, minor faux pas could be ruining the overall atmosphere in your house. And though these little things may seem insignificant, they are often the first things guests notice on entering the home, such as paper lampshades or unsightly photo frames.

1. Fluorescent Lights

These bright, glaring lights spoil the ambience in the and can make the décor appear unsophisticated.

How to fix: Switch off the fluorescent lights and opt for a warmer, softer glow (Wireless Table Lamp, ) to create a welcoming atmosphere.

2. TV Wires

The experts say wires should never be on display but neatly tucked away and hidden for a sophisticated look.

How to fix: Buy wireless technology or conceal the cables using cable-management boxes (). As a further tip, big TV stands should be removed to maximize space and the screen can be attached to the wall.

3. A Bare Room

Minimalist interiors can often look extremely stylish but only up to a certain point. A room that is too bare is a sophistication no-no.

Cheap or unstylish frames really stand out and will catch the eye of entering house guests.

5. Vertical Blinds

Vertical blinds are functional but not very appealing, the design site states.

How to fix: They recommend hanging a rounded curtain rod from the ceiling and hanging drapery panels () over them.

6. Paper Lamp Shades

Cheap paper lamp shades make a home look unsophisticated and ruin the overall look in the room.

How to fix: Choose a more stylish fabric () to replace the paper.
